Getting ready for prom is all about timing things so you look fresh (not rushed or overdone). Here’s a simple, realistic timeline that pros usually recommend:

3–4 Weeks Before Prom
The Focus: Major beauty appointments + skin prep

• Hair color (balayage, highlights, etc.)
Let it settle and allow time for corrections if needed.
• Hydrafacial or professional facial
Perfect timing for deep cleansing + glow without irritation. If you have problematic or sensitive skin, consider starting the process a bit earlier.
• Start a consistent skincare routine
Gentle cleanser, moisturizer, SPF (no experimenting with harsh products).
• Brows shaping (first pass)
Gives time for regrowth if needed.

Avanti Pro Tip: Avoid making any dramatic hairstyle changes (cut or color) right before prom. You don’t want to end up needing last-minute color corrections or haircut fixes just days before your prom.

2 Weeks Before Prom
The Focus: Enhancing + maintaining

• Hair gloss or toner (optional) for extra shine
• Lash lift or extensions (natural set recommended)
• Hydrating face masks (2–3x/week)

1 Week Before Prom
The Focus: Polishing details

• Final brow shaping
• Waxing / shaving
• Self-tan (if you use one)  Pro tip: Always test it first!

1–3 days before Prom
The Focus: Glow + rest

• Hydrating mask Pro tip: No new products!
• Hair mask for shine + smoothness
• Prep your bag (lip gloss, powder, perfume, etc.)
• Get good sleep (seriously, it shows!)
• Nails: mani + pedi  Pro tip: Neutral or timeless colors last longer.

Prom Day
The focus: The execution

Hair (styling / mise en plis)
Pro tip: Do this BEFORE makeup so heat, humidity, and hairspray don’t affect your finished look.

Makeup
Pro tip: Schedule it AFTER hair, ideally finishing 1–2 hours before you leave so everything stays fresh but not rushed.

Example Schedule (Prom at 6 PM)
9:00 AM / Hair (mise en plis)
• Allows time for detailed styling (curls, updo, etc.)
• Done by 10:30–11:00 AM

11:30 AM / Makeup
• After hair (ideal order)
• Finished by 12:30–1:00 PM

1:30–2:30 PM / Lunch / Break
• Eat, hydrate, relax (super important!)

3:00 PM / Get dressed + photos
• Natural lighting is best around this time
• Includes time for touch-ups

4:30–5:00 PM / Final touch-ups + leave
• Lip gloss, powder, outfit check

6:00 PM / Prom

EXTRA TIP
• Don’t try new skincare or products right before prom (avoid breakouts).

• Bring a small touch-up kit (lip gloss, powder, hairpins). Ask your makeup artist's to build you a kit.

• If you're doing lashes, test them beforehand.

• Wear a robe or button-up while getting ready.

• Eat, hydrate, and enjoy the moment.
