How it works:

Neuromodulators are non-invasive aesthetic treatments used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They work by relaxing the underlying muscles that cause these wrinkles, allowing the skin to appear smoother and younger.

During a treatment session, a small amount of botulinum toxin is injected directly into the targeted muscles. The treatment is quick, typically taking less than 20 minutes, and requires no downtime. Results begin to be visible within a few days, with optimal effects appearing between 7 and 14 days after the injection.

FAQ

Are there any contraindications?

Yes, there are contraindications for neuromodulator injections. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as individuals with skin infections or neurological diseases, are not appropriate candidates for this treatment. Additionally, those with a history of allergy to botulinum toxin or its components should avoid this treatment. Before undergoing botulinum toxin injections, it is important to discuss your medical history and any pre-existing conditions with your doctor.

Does it suit everyone?

Unfortunately, botulinum toxin is not suitable for everyone. Some people may not be appropriate candidates for botulinum toxin due to various factors such as age, skin condition, or medical history. It is possible that other treatments may be better suited to your aesthetic concerns, and a thorough evaluation with our medical director can help determine the best treatment plan for you.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects may occur after injections of botulinum toxin. Most potential side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, headaches, or asymmetry. These side effects are generally mild and temporary, typically disappearing within a few days. During your consultation, our medical team will explain all potential side effects to you, including rare complications.

How many sessions are necessary?

The number of botulinum toxin sessions required varies from person to person depending on several factors, including the area treated, the depth of wrinkles, and individual aesthetic goals. In general, patients can see significant results after a single botulinum toxin treatment session. However, to maintain the results, follow-up sessions are usually recommended every three to four months. Your doctor will assess your specific aesthetic needs and recommend a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

How long will it take for the results to be visible?

Although the effects of botulinum toxin treatment may start to manifest within two weeks following the initial injection, it is possible that fine lines and wrinkles may take longer to completely diminish, sometimes after a few weeks or months. Results may vary from person to person depending on various factors such as the depth of the wrinkles and individual response to the treatment.

Is it painful?

The procedure for injecting botulinum toxin is generally well tolerated and minimally painful. The needles used are very fine, which minimizes any sensation of pain. Most patients do not require anesthesia, but your comfort is our priority.

How much time is to be expected for the recovery?

The recovery time after a botulinum toxin injection is usually very short. Most patients notice a bit of redness and temporary swelling, and they can resume their normal daily activities immediately after the treatment (except for physical activity for 24-48 hours). However, it is recommended to avoid massaging or rubbing the treated area for the first few hours after the injection, in order to minimize any risk of product displacement.

What areas of the body can be treated?

Botulinum toxin can be used to treat several areas of the body, including the forehead, frown lines (between the eyebrows), crow's feet (corners of the eyes), lips, neck, armpits, hands and feet, masseters, chin, nose wrinkles ("bunny lines"), eyebrows, lower face, décolletage, neck as well as the trapezius (“Barbie Tox”) and calves. These treatments help to rejuvenate, smooth the skin, and improve the overall appearance of the face and body, while providing natural and long-lasting results.
